Compression therapy, treatment with pressure (compression) occupies an important place in slowing down the progression of venous insufficiency, it is much more effective than oral medications and ointments.
It is first-line treatment in all stages of chronic venous insufficiency.
The aim is to reduce pressure in the venous system preventing of venous vessels and reducing the tension of the venous walls by improving the function of the lower leg muscle pump; by reducing wall tension it
alleviates local symptoms such as pain, itching and pressure soreness, as well as reduces inflammation and swelling, improves microcirculation preventing lipodermatosclerosis and venous ulcers.(it also stimulates
ulcer healing, reduces the risk of recurrence and formation of new ulcers).

Depending on the severity of disease, a compression of 20 to 60 mmHg is applied.
As part of prophylaxis, the use of compression therapy is indicated : in pregnancy and in the postsurgical period as a method of preventing venous thrombosis, during long plane journeys, in patients with a history
of venous thrombosis in order to reduce the risk of the post-thrombotic syndrome.
In our clinic we use compression stockings of various companies, choosing the best products from each company: Medi, Micromaxis, Solidea, Aries, Varisan, Sigvaris.
